It is estimated that the built environment contributes 40% of the UK’s carbon footprint and we feel strongly that working in UK Real Estate we must take greater responsibility for our own actions and the impact our industry has on the environment.
Millwood's Carbon Footprint
Since Millwood Capital was established in 2018, we have calculated an estimate of our carbon footprint and converted this into a 'cost' using the price per tonne on the UK Emissions Trading Scheme.
Believing that we should contribute to redressing the causes of climate change rather than just offsetting our on-going activities, we have made a contribution for the 'cost' of our carbon footprint to The Climate Crisis Foundation who have established The Global Returns Fund (www.globalreturnsproject.earth) to cater for individuals and small businesses like Millwood who want to support regenerative projects aiming at reversing the impact we have had on the environment. The Fund allocates its capital between six not-for-profit organisations tackling different aspects of the climate crisis. These are: Blue Marine Foundation, ClientEarth, Global Canopy, Rainforest Trust, Trillion Trees & Whale & Dolphin Conservation. We have made our contribution for the historical emissions and aim to do this annually in future, in addition to reducing our carbon emissions in our day to day activities.
Charitable Donations
Millwood aims to donate up to one month's profit to charitable causes annually.
As a result, we have supported a range of national and international charities
